The great Patti LaBelle, a.k.a. Lady Marmalade, gave the Seminole Hard Rock Resort’s pink hotel rooms a try before her show at the Hollywood resort Tuesday. Labelle — believe it or not, she’s 65 — is helping publicize the fact that, through October, 25 percent of the $169-to-$389-a-day rental of special rooms with pink sheets, pink bathrobes, pink towels and pink roses goes to breast cancer research.
Here we go again!
Two years after Palm Beach County lost its chance to make an impact, and serious cash, on the 2007 Super Bowl in South Florida, the county’s participation in next February’s return of the big game already has hit a snag.
Gerry Baron, the county’s liaison with the organizers of the upcoming Super Bowl XLIV at Land Shark Stadium, resigned as Palm Beach County sports commish last week.
“Unfortunately, I’m going to have to give up that (the Super Bowl) position, too,” Baron said. “We were really putting the county on the map this time.”
Baron’s departure couldn’t come at a worse time!

Editor’s note: Jose’s on vacation, but the stars won’t stop visiting South Florida. So we’re helping Mr. Page2Live out this week.

Kathy Griffin shares another celebrity story on stage at the Seminole Hard Rock. (Storms Media Group)
Comic Kathy Griffin has made her career playing the outsider to the Hollywood A-list. Yet somehow, even as her fame grows and she appears to be ON the A-list, she’s still playing like she’s a D-lister. You figure it out.
Anyway, Griffin brought tales of her life among the stars to the Seminole Hard Rock on Wednesday night. More photos by Storms Media Group after the jump.

Usually the playground of the elderly on fixed income, the Seminole casino in Coconut Creek turned into a madhouse Saturday night, offering a strange orgy of colors, stage acts, dancing, skin and, of course, drinking.
We’re talking folks in strange costumes that barely covered them. There were acrobats, cage dancers, little people sporting green wigs — and more nudity than an HBO series. And then there was a beauty contest that quickly degenerated into something the area hadn’t seen since college Spring Break was banned.
Welcome to Jeff Beacher’s Madhouse, a traveling nightclub/circus act that started in Las Vegas and now has spilled over into the rest of the country. The Seminole tribe challenged showman Beacher to fill up the big entertainment tent at the stepchild of the tribe’s casinos. He did. More than 1,000 people showed up.
For Michele Sandberg’s pictures, see Page2Live’s new gallery below:
If you hang out in clubs and fancy bars, you probably ran into loud little people in green wigs over the past few days.

Who are these guys? The Beacher's Madhouse little people invaded Blue Martini in CityPlace last week
No worries. There’s no danger. They’re pushing a show scheduled for Saturday night at the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino, Beacher’s Madhouse.
Part- nightclub, part-circus, part-comedy, part-celeb watching, Jeff Beacher ’s show has been packing ‘em in at the Hard Rock Resort in Las Vegas for years. Then the former New York City furniture salesman took his frantic show on the road.
“I’m trying to convince the (Seminole) Tribe to have more of these shows in South Florida and they gave me one night in their toughest-to-fill property,” Beacher told Page2Live. “They figure if I can fill this place up, I can do anything. Those who come never saw anything like it.”
If you go, wear a costume!

Dwyane Wade on the red carpet of the Summer Groove Friday night
The Summer Groove, a weekend long charity wingding thrown every year by Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade and Heat retiree Alonzo Mourning, is in full swing.
In addition to a celebrity ball game with the likes of Lebron James Sunday evening at the Triple A downtown Miami, the duo has come up with a full schedule of goodies, including a $500-a-head gala dinner tonight at the Seminole Hard Rock.
And Friday night, Cedric The Entertainer had Groove goers in stitches at the event’s comedy show, also at the Hollywood casino/resort.
